Following on from a speculative introduction BSAP have supported this end user client to rationalise and optimise the energy strategy for their storage and process facility. The challenge was to optimise the energy consumption of the storage and packaging facility as the business develops and grows.

BSAP undertook a review of the current servicing strategy and energy usage and forwarded a number of alternative solutions incl:

•Anaerobic Digestion

•Solar Thermodynamic systems

•PV Array

Due to the nature of the energy usage in the storage process and the demand for electricity, this matched the climatic condition profile delivered via a solar a solution. Whilst the Thermodynamic panel option had significant value it was decided to pursue the PV option as this did not involve machinery warranties. BSAP then undertook negotiations with the local network operator and secured an export license for a 190kw PV ground mounted array, which was subsequently approved by planning. In parallel with the Energy review a new layout HV/LV supply layout was agreed with the authorities and implemented to eliminate overhead cables and free up needed storage area.
