Further to work previously undertaken by the BSAP team, a new opportunity arose to help support a venture with the product development programme of affordable Zero carbon homes for the RSL market.
The team at BSAP supported by key supply chain members, have developed a solution that meets the strict criteria established by the Development Company and proposed legislation. This has involved a significant interpretation of current and proposed legislation. The team then undertook detailed modelling of multiple solutions to determine the most cost effective and carbon efficient solution.
Through the dynamic modelling of the proposals and the utilisation of modern software BSAP have provided not only a concept solution that meets the needs of regulated load provision for Zero Carbon but also meets the projected load of unregulated provision in a cost effective way.
The key driver is that these homes meet both the current & projected needs of the residents but also allows for the Smart management of the facility remotely from the dwelling. The proposals must incorporating the key aspirations of a code 6/ Passivhouse and also meet the exacting clients brief including flexibility to expand and the family grows.
Some key attributes include the incorporation of life time homes by the introduction of lift access to the first floor, an engineered services solution that meets the needs of the MEP primary provision constructed in a modular format away from the site face. A flexible layout for both 2 & 3 bedroom homes with the availability to add easily configured additional living space should the family expand. A “Pattern Book” approach to the finish’s both internal and external along with a number of engineering options.
